New Zealand is the rare destination with world-class trophy quality, spectacular ground and no dangerous game at all — which makes it as workable for a first international as it is for a hard mountain hunter. Firearms entry is straightforward with advance documentation, and we handle it.

The roar runs March into April and is the reason most hunters book. Tahr and chamois peak April through August, when the bulls carry their winter manes. A 10–14 day combination trip crossing both windows is New Zealand's real strength.

The experience

Lodge one night, hut the next.

The format shifts with the quarry. For the roar, a wilderness lodge is the social centre while hunting pairs work the bush by day. For tahr and chamois it turns expedition — helicopter in, a hut on the tops, and a shared physical problem that does the bonding for you.

Your hosts

Rasmus's mountain, Alex's bush.

New Zealand trips are led by Rasmus or Alex. Your host runs the daily rhythm across ground that changes fast — river flats to alpine tops in a morning — and stays honest with you about what the mountain is going to ask.
