Hunting is not something I chose later in life β it is something I was born into. On my mother's side, outfitting runs through multiple generations. Hosting hunters, guiding them, and living by the rhythm of the land was always part of our family culture.
I started hunting with my father in South Africa at the age of eight. Those early years shaped everything β learning patience, respect for wildlife, and the responsibility that comes with taking a shot. Later, I earned my Professional Hunting license in South Africa, formalising what had already been a lifelong calling.
Seven years ago, I brought that same passion and standard to Spain and began outfitting here. For me, hunting is not just tradition β it is identity. I live in the Spanish countryside, where my work and personal life blend naturally together.
There is not much "off time" in the traditional sense. When I am not guiding a hunt, I am scouting new areas, checking game movement, walking land, or improving habitat. Any free time I have is spent outdoors with my family, exploring the countryside and discovering new terrain. Even family time often means binoculars in hand.
So much of hunting is outside of our control β weather, wind, animal movement. Because of that, I believe the things that are within our control must be exceptional. From the first handshake at the airport to the final farewell, I focus on every detail. A successful hunt is not measured only by the animal taken, but by how the hunter felt throughout the journey.
βThe land is both my office and my home.β
