Canadian Big Game — Canada

Hunting this ground with Huntica

Canada offers some of the most dramatic big game hunting on earth — from the towering peaks of British Columbia to the boreal forests of the northern territories. This is wilderness hunting in the truest sense: remote, demanding, and deeply rewarding.

Huntica's Canadian Approved Ground covers carefully selected outfitters across Western and Northern Canada, each vetted by a Huntica founder for trophy quality, ethical practices, guide competence, and the overall experience standard that Huntica clients expect.

Species and seasons

  • Moose — the largest deer species in the world; calling bulls during the rut is one of hunting's great experiences.
  • Elk — bugling bulls in the September rut; mountain hunting at its finest.
  • Black Bear — spring and fall seasons; varied hunting methods.
  • Mountain Goat — alpine hunting at elevation; requires fitness and commitment.
  • Bighorn Sheep — the pinnacle of North American mountain hunting.
  • Mule Deer — large-bodied deer in open and semi-open terrain.
  • Whitetail Deer — stand and stalk hunting in forest and farmland edges.

Species availability varies by province and outfitter. The season spans August through November, with peak periods depending on species and region. Huntica recommends the right combination based on your goals, fitness level, and preferred hunting style.

How we host you here

Canadian hunts are co-hosted by Rasmus and Alex, depending on the destination and species. Groups are kept to 2–6 hunters, matched to the specific outfitter and terrain.

For lodge-based hunts (moose, bear, elk), the social Huntica experience — group dinners, shared stories, sundowners — is central. For mountain hunts (goat, sheep), the format shifts to an expedition-style experience where the shared challenge of the terrain creates the bond.

Your Huntica host coordinates with local guides and outfitters, manages the daily rhythm, and ensures every person in the group has the experience they came for.

Why this is Huntica Approved Ground

Huntica's founders have personally hunted the Canadian outfitters in our portfolio and maintain ongoing relationships with the operators.
