United States — Big Game & Wingshooting
Hunting this ground with Huntica
The United States offers some of the most diverse hunting on earth — from bugling elk in the Rocky Mountain backcountry to whitetail deer in the hardwood forests of the Midwest, pronghorn on the open plains of Wyoming, and wild quail in the Texas brush country.
Huntica works with a carefully vetted network of American outfitters who hold state licenses, operate on proven ground, and deliver the kind of experience serious international hunters expect. Whether you're a European hunter experiencing your first American elk hunt or a GCC client looking for a Brotherhood-style ranch retreat, we design the trip around your group.
Species and seasons
The United States offers year-round hunting depending on species and state:
- Elk — September through November across Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and New Mexico. Archery seasons open earlier (August–September), rifle seasons typically October–November.
- Whitetail Deer — October through January across the Midwest and South. Peak rut hunting in November.
- Mule Deer — October through November in the Western states. Spot-and-stalk in open country.
- Pronghorn — August through October in Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. The fastest land animal in the Western Hemisphere.
- Wild Turkey — Spring seasons (April–May) across most states. Fall seasons available in select states.
- Upland Birds — Pheasant (October–January in the Dakotas, Kansas), Quail (November–February in Texas, Oklahoma), Chukar and Hungarian Partridge in the Northwest.
How we host you here
American hunting culture is well-established and outfitter infrastructure is strong — so our hosting role focuses on vetting, coordination, and group management. We select outfitters based on land quality, guide experience, lodge standards, and ethics. For Brotherhood trips, we coordinate the full ranch experience including meeting rooms, dining, and non-hunting activities.
For international clients, we handle the practical details that American outfitters often assume you already know: firearms transport regulations (TSA rules, state-by-state requirements), hunting license procurement (non-resident tags, lottery applications), and travel logistics from international airports to remote hunting areas.
Why this is Huntica Approved Ground
Every American outfitter in the Huntica network has been personally visited and vetted. We look for:
- State-licensed guides with proven track records across multiple seasons.
- Quality of land — private ranches with managed wildlife populations, not overcrowded public land.
- Lodge standards that match the Huntica experience (comfortable, well-run, good food).
- Ethical hunting practices — fair chase, legal compliance, conservation-minded management.

Practical details
- Travel: Major hubs include Denver (CO), Bozeman (MT), Dallas (TX), and Jackson Hole (WY). Internal transfers arranged by Huntica.
- Firearms: US citizens travel with their own firearms (TSA-compliant hard case, declared at check-in). International hunters can rent rifles from outfitters or apply for ATF Form 6 for temporary import.
- Licenses: Non-resident hunting licenses required per state. Some species (elk, pronghorn) require lottery tag applications months in advance — Huntica manages this timeline.
- Comfort: American hunting lodges range from rustic mountain camps to premium ranches with full amenities. We match the accommodation to your expectations.
